Design Officer (Facilities)
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Officer (Facilities) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing design documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with standards, and assisting in project management activities from start to close-out. This role involves working closely with senior managers and heads to ensure that all design aspects are executed efficiently and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture, excellent technical skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Documentation and Coordination:
- Prepare detailed design plans, drawings, and documents for various project stages, including:
- Management approval
- Meetings and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Budget estimation and bids
- Site implementation
- Revise documents and drawings as necessary to accommodate project changes or updates.

Specifications and Cost Monitoring:
- Develop and maintain specifications, material and color swatches, and budget estimates.
- Monitor project costs and ensure they stay within the allocated budget.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for owner's approval and site implementation.
Project Timeline and Quality Control:
- Ensure that the project, including drawing preparation, implementation, and material delivery/installation, is completed on time, within budget, and adheres to approved design criteria.
- Monitor and evaluate site progress, ensuring quality and design compliance.
Material Ordering and Procurement:
- Initiate the ordering of architectural materials either through bids or purchase requisition (PR) forms, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with design specifications.
Site Inspections and Monitoring:
- Attend site inspections, including pre-construction assessments, mock-up inspections, and monitoring of site implementation.
- Perform punch listing and ensure that the site work aligns with approved designs and standards.
Project Documentation and Filing:
- Maintain and organize project documentation and filing from project initiation to close-out.
- Provide necessary documents to respective managers for review and approval.
Collaboration and Assistance:
- Assist senior and executive managers in preparing documentation for securing management approvals and ensuring smooth project execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Strong experience in architectural drafting, design documentation, and project coordination.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in design management and project documentation.
- Knowledge of construction codes and regulations.
